10Awaji Kannon – Japan
Located on the east coast of Awaji Island in Japan, Awaji kannon was the tallest statue in the world when it was completed in 1982. The statue stands at a height of 80 Meters (260 feet) is of a popular Buddhist goddess known as Guanyin in CHinese, The statue was built by a local business from Osaka. The statue can be seen from all over the Awaji island and also from the coast of Osaka. Unfortunately it was closed to public as it was considered a safety hazard.

9Rodina-Mat’ Zovyot! – Russia
Rodina-Mat’ Zovyot!, also known as Mother Motherland Statue in the city of Volgograd, Russia, designed by Sculptor Yevgeny Vuchetich and engineer Nikolai Nikitin stands at a height of 85 meters (279 feet) was built to honour those who died in the Battle of Stalingrad during the World War II. The statue contains 5,500 tonnes of concrete and 2,400 tons of metal structures, the sword itself weighs 14 tons.

Located on a river island facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam on the river Narmada, 100 kilometers southeast of the city of Vadodara in Gujarat, is the tallest statue in the world standing at a height of 182 meters (597 feet), was of an Indian statesman and independence activist Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Construction was started in 2014 and ended in 2018, was completed in a record time of 4 years, the project costed around $420 million, making it the most expensive statue to be ever built. The statue was designed by an Indian sculptor Ram V. Sutar, and was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 31 October 2018, the 143rd anniversary of Patel’s birth.
