Jet Airways to withdraw Delhi-Muscat service from December
India’s Largest Full Service Carrier, Jet Airways has decided to end its only direct service between Delhi and Muscat from 5th December 2018. Till then the airline offers 4 times a week flights on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 26th November 2018 to 4th December 2018.
The Airline is currently in financial crisis and the airline planners are trying to keep the airline afloat by cutting down routes which are financially not viable and which has more competition.
Recently Airline has also cut down keen routes from Kochi and Mangalore and shifted them to its bases in Delhi and Mumbai where these routes generate more revenue per seat than tier-II cities.
Along with route rationalization, airline is also cutting down its workforce to reduce costs, Today the airline has asked 16 ground staff to leave company from its offices in Kochi and Hyderabad.
In last month itself, airline has laid off 20 employees, including some senior-level executives from the in-flight services department.Prior to that, it reportedly had asked 15 managerial level employees from various departments including engineering, security and sales, to leave the company.
